Kāhuli and Maile Greeting Card

This greeting card features an illustration inspired by the endangered Kāhuli (Hawaiian land snails) and endemic maile (Hawaiian shrub-like vine).

Kāhuli are endangered and some species are even extinct. This design includes maile lei alongside the snails/snail shells, because kāhuli inhabit native trees and shrubs, and maile, while technically being a vine, can appear shrublike. I like to think that the maile vine provides kāhuli with some shelter and protection.
